Maritime Security Regimes Roundtable 2020

“Future Trends in Maritime Situational Awareness”

A Maritime Security Regime (MSR) is a group of states and/or organizations acting together, with an agreed upon framework of rules and procedures, to ensure security within the Maritime Domain.

On behalf of Vice Admiral Lindsey, USN, Director of the Combined Joint Operations from the Sea Centre of Excellence (CJOS COE), we are delighted to inform you about the 2020 Maritime Security Regime Roundtable (2020 MSR RT) which will take place on 29-30 April 2020 at the Slover Library in downtown Norfolk, Virginia.

The previous MSR RTs took place in Norfolk and were very successful. Those RTs followed the same agenda with panels and two key note speakers. This year we will follow a similar agenda.

The topics for each panel are as follows:

• Maritime Security – A Regional Perspective

• Maritime Security – A Multi-Domain Perspective

• Future Technologies Application to Maritime Security

Our event is largely a stand-alone event and it’s clearly a follow-up to previous work we have done on the subject. Historically, work on MSA goes back to 2008 when Maritime Security Conferences began to be held. The MSR Roundtables, as they are called now, aim at addressing the current and emerging issues within the Maritime community and bringing together Industry, Defense, Allies, Partners and Public sector in sharing and discussing information that can be helpful to the community. A simple gesture of listening or sharing contact information over a cup of coffee can go a long way in making our Maritime community a better place. Please consider joining us and meet your community in downtown Norfolk, Virginia.

If you’re not already registered and you’re interested in joining us, please register below using the provided instructions. There is an $80 (US dollars) registration fee to be paid in cash on the first day of the Roundtable.

We are also happy to announce that dates of the 2020 MSR RT have been set to allow attendees to enjoy one of the city of Norfolk’s annual showcase events, the Norfolk NATO Festival, which will take place downtown from 30 April to 3 May. You can find further information on this festival at

A link to reserve your hotel room at the group rate for 2020 MSR RT as well as a brochure containing relevant Administrative Information will be available soon in this website.
